    3) Could this be a denial-of-service attack against quitter.se and quitter.no?? Or some misconfigured other instance flooding q.no and q.se??

    Because: Some 3 weeks ago I told @knuthollund on #IRC about the issue and he said he would have a look. Soon after that the problem was completely gone and quitter.no worked flawlessly for at least the rest of the day! And moreover: quitter.se also worked flawlessly! But later it turned out @knuthollund didn't actually do anything at that point, not even restart anything.)

    So I think that something on the fediverse network must have changed within those couple of hours. I think the cause of the problem is somewhere in the internet and that cause did stop its weird behaviour against quitter.se and quitter.no just for a while. Too bad the problem came back the next day.

    I think one could check the logs of the webserver or use wireshark to look out for weird/excessive traffic.

    @hannes Can we, the users, help to save quitter.se? Maybe some more people would make regular monthly donations now. (SEPA bank transfer is free of charge within the EU by law so EU people can even donate small amounts like 3 € per month automatically without any fees.)

    And maybe there are other admins who can help with the technical problems.

    Maybe you actually don't need a hardware upgrade now. Because: quitter.NO has exactly the same issue with "not-responding database server every few minutes". And quitter.no already runs on powerful hardware (SSD disk, 12 GB RAM and the whole database kept in memory) AND has a smaller number of users.

    @einebiene es gab mal eine Fernsehserie "Die rote Zora und ihre Bande". Das kommt mir grad in den Sinn. Die Bande hatte glaub ich ein Versteck in einem verlassenen burgaehnlichen Gemaeuer. Da musste man bestimmt auch eine Parole sagen

    Falls sich jemand ärgert, dass ich "plenke" (=ein Leerzeichen vor Ausrufungszeichen setze: ja, das ist ein faux-pas, aber wenn ich "Grundordnung !" ohne Leerzeichen schreibe, dann kann ich den Post nicht abschicken und kriege "Invalid filename".

    Ich frage mich was passiert wenn ich /etc/hosts! schreibe)

Was da beschlossen wurde, macht mich fassungslos. Die EU will es Unternehmen, die tödliche autonome Waffen entwickeln, ermöglichen sich um EU-Mittel zu bewerben. Und das, obwohl das Europaparlament dies in seinem Verhandlungsmandat ausdrücklich verboten hat.     @luke we had to turn it off, because it is completely overloaded. we're thinking about what to do. costs are too high. and we don't have much motivation to work with it right now, sorry :( but if we decide to close it, we will at least take it online for a while so people can export their data. i wish i had more energy for computer work, but all i want to do is ride my bike...
