Just watched this talk on a #DIY #ISP federation organization called FFDN in France and Belgium:
    https://media.freifunk.net/v/ffdn-a-federation-of-diy-isps-in-france-and-belgium
They support people starting their own #isps and do political work in the #EU. Pretty cool!

    Life goal:
Be the person doing the cool non-commercial or anti-corporate tech presentation. When in Q&A somebody asks how to make it more commercial, do it with corporate control, etc, call these issues what they are and refuse.

Glorious rant about #crypto and #Linux #security, with a surprise in it:

    Idea for a new hobby:
Collecting network packet capture (pcap) traces from interesting/"fun" network environments. :3
In the same way other people collect stamps or whatever.

"Look at this weird setup with multiple DHCP servers!"
"I've got one where the timings are totally off!"
... you could also trade them if you're comfortable. :D

There is a new wireless daemon for Linux called iwd, developed by Intel to be an alternative to wpa_supplicant. It is meant to be more lightweight, e.g. to run on embedded devices. Also, I think it should be more consistent in its view of the wireless network status, as I learned in the talk at the "All Systems Go" conference.

I just checked out and compiled the code: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/network/wireless/iwd.git/about/
    It's released under LGPL.
