@hund @killyourfm we can also use Shelter† to freeze those apps when not in use so they could not spy on us all the time in the background.

@hund My multiple i9300 and i9305 are cheap (~70$), can be practically libre and still get updates. Replacement batteries are still easily available
Second-hand stuff FTW

@bxtn I moved from Helm to Ivy for that very reason. It looks like Magit has 15 lines of EIEIO so for now I will not nuke it from the orbit but I will closely monitor its situation. 😺

@otini I’ve checked now and see that upside down face can mean sarcasm too (even more often than silliness). Didn’t know that.
GUST is ((Polish) System TeX User Group). It’s responsible for BachoTeX conference, e-foundry† creating e.g. Latin Modern, Tex Gyre typefaces, or TeX ‘Pearls’‡ (aka TeX beauties and oddities).

Upside down face shows that “I could be silly” cuz I like to read “some obscure typography papers”. I really like to read that stuff.PS Usually I use irony mark ⸮ to indicate irony. Generally I try to not use sarcasm in short text communication cuz that’s too confusing in already confusing communication method. 🤷
PSPS I’m also afraid that sometimes I sound like an asshole when I reply. Sorry for that. Not my intention at all. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

@otini After further investigation ;) Latin Modern Typewriter exists only in old versions of Latin Modern and recent Latin Modern typeface (available in Nix) has only Latin Modern Mono which is is the successor of Typewriter variant with all modern bells & whistles.
Thank you for inspiring me to search for that info! I love reading all those GUST typography papers 🙃

@otini yes, today we aren’t constrained by typewriter’s limitations so we can use modern mono‑spaced typefaces designed for screens, laser printers, or terminals; like Latin Modern Mono (with all OpenType format goodies).
For me typewriter variants are only for emulating past look&feel. In the same way like some folks still use bitmap fonts today (e.g. Terminus).
PS We can create similar websites e.g. like https://beautifulracket.com/ with Pollen publishing system https://docs.racket-lang.org/pollen/

@hund maybe b/c of ‘dynamic wm’ and ‘dynamic tiling wm’ difference? So i3 is dynamic wm but not dynamic tiling wm.
Generally I didn’t saw a proper definitions anywhere so 🤷

@otini There’s no bold font variant cuz typewriters didn’t have it too† so it could be surprising to see a typewriter‑stylized text with bold emphasis (or italics).
