@wohali @taweret I saw it in a kids movie once. I assumed the movie invented it. Seems a reasonable explanation. Such as why it's something as terribly, boringly scholastic as counting and designed to annoy old people by getting worse with age.

My heart was never in it like that, so I bailed. But it's interesting to ponder what I'd be up to now if I had stuck with it, and I get pangs sometimes listening to Adam Savage's podcast. But this goofy robot suit is definitely the thing I brag on at parties. 5/5

So 22-23 years ago I was working at a practical special effects shop in North Hollywood, and we got subcontracted to build this robot drone suit for this episode of DS9. I did maybe 80% of the fabrication and decoration, with a more experienced guy putting the finishing touches on it. 1/5
