Like I saw someone say on twitter recently, "punishable with a fine" means "legal if you're rich." And Brexit is all about the rich shafting the rest of us.

They're HTML tags. Whatever's in the <alt> tag is what the screenreader will read out. Since some web browsers (and apps like Mastodon clients) are now offering alt-text as hover-over text, I guess people are thinking that whatever they see when they hover over an image is what a screenreader will read, but that's not the case. Has to be in the alt-text. -

I forget how many people don't know about Dreamwidth. If you want old-school blogging, good accessibility, RSS, no ads, no trackers, no Javascript, and good people if you're looking for community, I really can't recommend it highly enough.
