Education is the way and legalization will only prove beneficial for society. The stigma alone forces folks to be isolated from the rest of society in their struggles

Probably one of my favourite parts of the onboarding was seeing my name actually included in the IT dept's presentation deck. It was a nice touch that made me feel like I'm actually part of the team already :D It made me feel warm and fuzzy :3

Onboarding DONE! God that was exhausting! Way more so than I anticipated. I don't know how I sat in class day in and day out before at school like that.

Aside from that, I /am/ excited to do some work and to work with some high spirited folk 👌

Holy crap, nice night drinking, with all the brand new hires of the company and some more senior employees, it was a great night to interact

@gemlog Indeed I have, it's only day four and I'm already feeling like this place is the perfect fit for me. This is definitely one of those newfangled companies with a new school "culture"

@kai C-LEVEL execs of the 500+ employee company came to speak to us today, the 32 brand new hires that arrived just from the last 2 months. And they do that 6 times a year

@n0btc when it comes to my work, I don't inject my principles into it. Yes I'll push to find something that's suited for the work in FOSS, but if there's something "better suited" by a margin, I'll go with that thing

@Matter that's part of it for me. Those views are unrelated to his work and I can mentally separate those. They just make him a person I can't really like...at all :p

The new job is going pretty well so far, but I haven't yet gotten into the trenches. Gotta wait for my trip to Quebec City next week

@normandc i, unfortunately, only type with like three fingers. It's really odd

It doesn't make sense to me to be needing to use modifier keys for a character I use more often than the unmodified key I use in the combo

@Matter we already discussed this, I believe. It's related to his views on pedophilia, necrophilia, and beastiality.

But to add to that, his talk on "EMACS virgins" being women who've not used EMACS yet and how he's gotta "relieve them of that virginity"

I'll write a post on this(eventually) and why I *actually* think he's unfit for the job in the first place
