@pokey Heres a hint, its one of the components. Zoom in.

@pokey That was some type of sealer.

@tpheine The resistor right above the boards label failed.

@seb Yep, crispy.

@dokuja I'm sure a lot of them... most of them failed. (this board is from the 80's)

The replacement board (from the 90's) has a resistor in that place that can handle more current.

Some engineer got fired. :P

(BTW, the function this whole board is providing can now be done with a part the size of an ice cube.)

@dokuja Spot on. The replacement board changed that resistor from 1/4w to a 1/2w.
