Apparently a strawman#Mastodon is currently worse than #Twitter in terms of chilling effects.
Users need some way of knowing in advance how ban-happy the moderation staff is on an instance before signing up and entering valuable content into a stranger's database. Admins have a habit of banning in bad faith, without adequate process, and without any chance to extract one's own content before losing access.
