Yeah, it's kinda thrown me a bit. I'm a little surprised by my own reaction, but we've spent hours in the air doing something that to me feels a little dangerous if you get it wrong. So, I guess I developed a lot of trust in him without even thinking about it.

@Charbax You misunderstand the reason the founders created the electoral college because you have an underlying assumption. You assume that democracy is good. The founders believed that true democracy was not the best form of government. The US was formed to be a representative republic. The electoral college is a safeguard against democracy, not an imperfect form of democracy. To remove it is to fundamentally change the nature of US government.
