on linux, ligatures just work, and images work in the terminal.

on mac, it has built in window management so you don't have to use dvtm, and you can hide window decorations (!!!!).

@christianbundy i'm trying arch! i've wanted to give it a shot for years. i also thought about trying out a BSD, but i don't think i'm that hardcore.

@nadir sid is usually okay, but some programs i use a lot still take a while to be updated. it took several weeks for neovim 0.2.x to land, and current node LTS is only in experimental

(i'm trying out arch because i'm tired of fighting debian to let me install up-to-date software)

i installed arch and i3 on a very old laptop and not only does it work, but i instantly grew a big beard and started wearing socks with sandals
