i do still have an amazon.com account but plan on getting rid of that soon, too. that one's a little tougher because i don't drive, so buying anything usually means online. just gotta be better at planning when i need to buy things, it think.

i deleted my personal AWS account today. not sure if i'll focus on just using DO or try some smaller companies, but i don't think i really want to give amazon (or google, or microsoft) money anymore. digital ocean having s3-compatible storage, managed k8s, and managed postgres makes it a pretty good alternative, i guess.

i'm cleaning up some files and archiving some projects. all low-traffic mostly unused stuff that i haven't been maintaining. feels kinda good to just let things go, but also kinda bad to have so much unmaintained code... https://github.com/zacanger?utf8=%E2%9C%93&tab=repositories&q=&type=archived&language=

most of the code is based on someone else's project and it's all very rough, but i'm rewriting it all bit by bit

i need to figure out a good way to script all the things i do when i start a new project. i have the new project boilerplate done, but creating a repo on github with all the right settings, setting up circleci, dockerhub sometimes, code coverage, getting nice badges for the readme... it's like at least an hour long process every time.

dockerhub automated builds are kind of a nice feature

just met my friends the missionaries from that one time when i was waiting on the train. this time they knocked on my door. nice kids. i feel bad for them, it's hot out.

i'm now in the phlegmy coughing phase, which means this is almost over. thank goodness.

also when i get sick, i really get sick. it happens maybe twice a year and i'm pretty much useless for 4-8 days. like right now. i am useless.
