Is there someone who owns a OnePlus with an aftermarket USB-C cable? I am wondering if I can (for the most part) grab any USB-C cable and dash charging will still work?

@DatTux The rest of the software is written in Perl it seems. I would even take that over a bash script that runs `sleep N` every N seconds :D

@DatTux Well since it's a bash script this is normal but it's still crazy if you think about it. A bash script is just not the right way to do it..

It turns out that fancontrol is actually a bash script... 🤦
Someone needs to rewrite this in Python and use proper timers.

The people who made lm_sensors – more specifically the fancontrol part – are real noobs.
Instead of implementing a real timer into their code, they spawn `sleep 5` as a child process in an infinite loop.

@mathdatech But what are the credentials good for if the database server is only available at localhost? No one is able to connect to it outside of the webserver's host.

Yesterday I installed Sway on :gentoo: and I have to say it actually improved quite a bit. Or maybe it was just buggy on :fedora: 😉

Either way, I will give it a shot as my daily window manager instead of i3. So far it has been quite stable. Can’t complain for something that is technically pre-release.

@angristan @vurpo I’m also not convinced yet. It’s not super expensive to run a HTTPS site and even small mirrors can afford the certificate thanks to Let’s Encrypt. The extra server load for encryption is minor as well.

When I check for lists of Gentoo mirrors there are dozens of mirrors listed that support HTTPS, so it can’t be a big issue that “Debian and Ubuntu needs to talk to them” 🙄

@DatTux I am running it for a few months already. Can’t complain really. The best is simply that I can live systemd-free and without any other bloat.
