Some thoughts on #OpenSourceSoftware:
1. The granting of unlimited usage rights regardless of usage purpose inherently enables existing power structures. Those who would leverage or abuse power to acquire more power are _delighted_ to benefit from folks delight in the act of creative and productive expression through software. Any license that _does not_ take into account power dynamics is one that _enables and supports_ them.
2. "Free as in beer" entrenched OSS as for financially secure folks

One of the things I found most illuminating in these docos was all the stuff about how influential cryptofascist organizations were in the UK and especially the US, and how hesistant their governments were to enter WW2 on the side of France and its allies. This is almost never discussed in popular accounts of the war, as it contradicts the glorious myths of a coalition of the willing against fascism.

Good policies from the UK labour party, well a move back to 20th century social democracy, a step. But can elections still work to deliver this in the era of #dotcons is a question that should be acted on now because if they are broken it will be too late after the election.

Why is #XR more successful than the old anti-capitalist/direct action movements?
Simple it's because the #deathcult is now so visible that the soft/vertical organising and messaging of XR works as outreach. The mainstream has visibly failed.
BUT XR by itself is not going to save us, it's what the 'peoples assemblies' are for, If they can happen #4opens
Our movements back in the 1990's had to fight against reality. XR is pushing at an open door of reality. Its basic stuff.
