Try not to just write "mermaid", though. Do you really think they all look the same?

Go for color description, but especially write about the atmosphere of your drawing, what are your creatures doing? Are they sad or happy or what? What is happening around them? How is their expression? What do they look like?

Is there some hairy elephant (or any other creature) out there who is interested in #disabilitystudies? I don't have an academic background in the field but it's evolving into a big interest of mine (I'm disabled in different ways myself). I would love reading recommendations and maybe discussions whenever I can do them. Intersectional approach is important to me and I'm also always happy to read all the non-academic things about #disability (by disabled people!).

Please note that this month is NOT about "autism awareness".

It's about accepting autistic people just the way we are. It's about listening to us. Learn about barriers and how you are making our lives harder by expecting us to act neurotypical. Learn about access needs. Realize that we are all individuals. Ask us what we need, don't assume (in)competence.

Any tips for a simple web-based #chat software?

I'm looking for something to host on my server and use for chat sessions with a small group of people (a team basically). No client software.

I'm NOT looking for a full blown collaboration thing, it needs to be simple and not overwhelming (because #accessibility). Just one (or more) chat rooms and maybe private messages.

I'm thinking about #IRC but I don't know any good web-clients?

People should just go to the URL and be able to chat.
