I hope like hell that, for most humans, "Nazis" remain the people we talk about, and not *to*. I hope they're just the creeps at the corner of the internet, or in that one house everyone avoids. Alone. Maybe we squint at them on TV as they go to jail. That would also be great.
I hope that, for most people, they remain an abstraction.
But please, for the love of gods, dont call opposing Nazis "political idealism". 1/?
When I was a social worker for under-resourced kids in the US ghetto I regularly saw poor brown / black kids beaten by cops and thrown in prison, where their parents already were, for the crime of being poor & homeless in front of a nice hotel.
America has long papered over its dystopian fascism, racism and neoslavery under the rug of PR and concentration camps -- place to remove 'undesirables' from your sight, and enslave / punish them.
The US also has for-profit slave labor concentration camps, as the Nazis did, where people are targeted by race, are unjustly thrown into cells for standing on the wrong corner without a real trial for the rest of their lives to make Victorias Secret garments and make Whole Foods products for Jeff $150,000,000,000 Bezos for 0 cents an hour. They're called US prisons, and we've got 2.5 million people in them already.

One cell with a capacity of 8 held 41 detainees. A cell built for 35 held 155."

Solitary confinement and torture to the point of slitting wrists, gouging one's eyeballs, especially disabled, LGBTQ people and hunger strikers they don't know what to do with.

"The disenfranchised will hail Zuckerberg as 'a savior'" --Jim Cramer, Wall Street hypeman, Goldman Sachs bankster, global meltdown and human misery profiteer.
People love to talk about technological solutions to climate change, but climate change is not a technological problem, at least not anymore. The technology exists to stop using fossil fuels, and it is close enough to economic that it will rapidly become economic if we start applying it.
The real problem of climate change is a political one. It's convincing people to actually do the work Any discussion of solutions that does not start there is a nonstarter.

Welcome to capitalism, where tech startups fake 'genius' AI using hidden POC sweatshop labor in a 'black box' to rake in profits.
"AI, games, Amazon, it's all made with magic! In our magic black box!" "What's in it?" "Nevermind, just eat your kale salad and let's do yoga!" *Open box, find a sweatshop*
@garbados@morganmay Yeah, this is important to say. I make a habit of saying what's happening every day, just out loud or in a post, because we're daily inundated 24/7 from every TV channel, social media, public and private institution with the *real* conspiracy theory: that America is a democracy where everyone is living a great middle class life -- except for you.
The truth is 70% of America is living in poverty after accounting for healthcare and rent. It is a third world country.
I'm not saying don't play games & chill. I make video games as an indie dev & need people to give me money for them so I can have meds, food, & rent for me & my kids.
Also, I try to play games an hour a day, or garden, etc.
But if you take a few hours investigating unions, join one, the average union worker makes $970 a week vs $763 non-union, or $10,000 more per year
The few hours of *social* work may help you, your mh, & all workers the most https://www.iww.org/
@wardPlaced There's always been a thread of that, just like there was always a contingent of 'red laces' punks at the punk shows back when the Dead Kennedy's were rocking and had to kick Nazi asses out of their venues. Wrote a whole song about it.
IBM made $$$ with Nazi Germany, & the computing industry itself has racist origins in America, back to the punch card
@LWFlouisa Yeah, I would estimate I spent probably 1/4 my total work hours working on writing, about 1/2 on creating art assets, and the remaining 1/4 on programming at least during the initial pre-release dev cycle. I used an existing engine of course and hand-painted the art, so mileage may vary.
