The whole house smells really nice right now, though.

Spent my morning grading, got most of it done. Got home, chopped garlic and onions for sauteing, added peas & salt & bay leaf, got everything simmering for a fabulous split pea soup, which I'll eat later with a slab of pumpernickel rye.

So life is good right now. Just lonely.

One more week of classes. My plan today: get a shit-ton of grading done so I can relax for a short while before the storm hits.

We're just going to have to destroy the Republican party.

@demonkind @benhamill You can cleave someone with a broadsword, and also cleave to someone in marriage. Some people get those two meanings mixed up, I think.

It's clear that all that rage is a mask over a lot of fear and insecurity, so we just sat together for a quiet hour. I read, she just curled up and wouldn't leave my lap all that time.
