My workplace is currently looking for 3 developers in #Warsaw.

1 mid-level, senior #python developer hacking mostly on a django backend/rest framework API

2 #javascript + #ux developers hacking on an angular frontend

The product is a privilege access management solution built on top of #FreeBSD. You'll be exposed to BSD, networking and security on a daily basis.

Feel free to chat me up if you're interested. I can pass on a CV but I can't discuss pay as I'm not performing the recruitment.

@Wolf480pl @Michcioperz Beastie (the daemon) is a 4.4BSD mascot, not exclusive to FreeBSD. One of the first OpenBSD releases featured him on the cover. It works OK as a cross BSD mascot.

    Every #Linux distro post #IBM #Redhat acquisition

    > Should we switch to #systemd now?
    > Sure. Nobody ever got fired for choosing IBM

I would like to remind everyone that #systemd has been predicted insanely accurately aeons ago by H. P. #Lovecraft in Mountains of Madness.

There should be a global 'awareness' week for developers. For a week reduce your RAM to 2 GB, disable all cores except 2, downscale your resolution to 1366x768 and cap your internet at 1 Mbps (or less for mobile developers)...

Maybe, just maybe we will start to have less crappy, bloated software.

@karasu it's not, when I wrote that only the alarmist EFF announcement was up. The paper (https://efail.de/efail-attack-paper.pdf) lists mutt as not affected. This was a terribly handled misinforming announcement.

I played violent video games since I was a little kid. Mortal Kombat, Carmageddon, GTA, Blood, Soldier of Fortune - you name it, I played it.

Never felt aggressive after doing that, don't ban violent video games.

Ban #javascript, one evening of it and I want to do unspeakable things to people.

StackOverflow considered harmful, they should consider buying integeroverflow.com as a fallback service name.

To few eyeballs on code is a security issue. Can FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and NetBSD survive?

This should serve as a warning for everyone basing their research on media like Wikipedia.

Yes, that also includes programming based on stackoverflow as the source of truth...
