@sil I think the answer is "yes" -- do what makes sense for you.

You could divide your social network stream. Many clients support multiple accounts.

You could follow folks over there and participate in discussions.

You could use an app that lets you look at other timelines without following anyone.

I think it depends on how you plan on participating more than there being a correct answer. I imagine that in the end people will have a few ActivityPub accounts they use differently.

I thought the Southeast Linux Fest, (SELF) had published their 2019 dates somewhere, but I can't seem to find them and their site is down.

@tinker it is possible they only targeted boards going to specific companies as well. It sounded like that even the Amazon and Apple instances of the attack weren't all of the boards they had.

I guess this puts some faith back into network monitoring for me. I always saw it as "too little too late." But, it seems like the only way to detect this type of attack.

Two things I realized I forgot but are now fixed:

· I didn't limit the RSS feed, now it has the same restrictions.

· I set up a monthly build of the website (it is static) so that the limits will be reevaluated monthly. Using the Gitlab "Pipeline Schedules" for that: https://gitlab.com/help/user/project/pipelines/schedules
