@paperdigits@n8 we have a laser printer at The Lab (local makerspace) that will take an SVG into its proprietary software and print it. Don't use any fancy features though 😉
Depends on what you want to cut though, many plastics release toxic fumes when hit with a laser.
@n8 not sure if you're stuck on stickers, but I know some folks that'll take SVGs and make keycaps. Depending on usage the stickers can fade pretty quick.
@scott@kristinHenry I'm not on vis.social, so I can't comment about the local timeline, but I'm curious about the federated timeline there. Is that better? It seems like that might be one that could be easily effected quickly.
Many thanks to everyone who came out to the first ever libre graphics track at #SCaLE16x! We had a great variety of speakers and I learned a few new things!
And thank you to everyone who stopped by the #gimp and #inkscape booth to say hello and chat. It was nice to meet all of you.
This. So this. "One Hackernews explains this is a good warning not to make important things depend on convenient things provided by third-parties without obligation. Because this warning was posted on a venture capital website used almost exclusively by people whose entire businesses depend on Amazon Web Services, my computer's irony co-processor exploded and I had to finish this article at my local public library." — http://n-gate.com/hackernews/2018/03/07/0/
@mairin in everything it is harder to build than destroy.
Usually this is how I take political arguments now: How do you want to build a more fair society? Focus on the creation, seems to take out a lot of anger.
Surprised it was cheaper to make a fully articulated robotic arm to use a standard fast food cook surface rather than a heated conveyer belt like a tortilla cooker. — http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-43292047
