The other day I found out that my local library has no limit on how many items a person can check out at once.
I asked the librarian, "What's to stop someone from driving up with a UHaul and filling it up?"
And she replied, with a grin, "Ambition"

Hey, all you #artists #artisans #crafters #makers and #hobbyists
Show me something you made that you're proud of! I want to shower you all with compliments about how awesome you are for creating stuff.
A note for #NewUsers
Mastodon has some unique #features that you may not be used to.
When you post an image, there will be a box available when you hover over the image preview. Please use this to describe the image! This helps blind people understand the image when using a screen reader.
The little "CW" icon next to the globe is for Content Warnings. You can add a content warning to any post! It allows people to choose if they want to risk exposing themselves to that topic at that moment.
Hey, when you #DeleteFacebook please keep in mind that, at the moment, it's the only way that a lot of us disabled/chronically ill folks get to discuss our illnesses.
Lots of us use the groups feature on fb to help each other find doctors, discuss symptom treatments, and get support around our illnesses.
So please remember not to shame people who can't or don't delete their account. It's not our fault that it's shitty and it's not our fault that we still need it.
So, in light of how awful the group I've been roommate hunting apparently is, anyone need a $450/month room (+ ~$100 utilities/month) in East Portland? I can link you to a detailed Google Docs if you DM me.
Please boost.

On that note, if anyone in Portland needs free computer parts (used, obviously, and with no guarantee of functionality), feel free to give me a DM and we can see about letting you take a look through my Box of Computer Bits. Or, if it's a recognizable part, I can let my partner know to keep an eye out. He's managed to get an entire desktop tower out, intact, without building security giving him shit for it.
@nonphatic https://acutecaretesting.org/en/journal-scans/orange-juice-overdose
Apparently it's the potassium that would kill you.
In this case, the 51-year old patient drank 2.5 liters of orange juice daily for three weeks. This patient did live, because he sought medical care at the onset of limb paralysis.
So...doable.
Okay google, how do I seize the means of production?
