When asked "which Pokémon is the first one?" without any further context, five answers are valid:

Bulbasaur :bulbasaur: is number #001 in the National Pokédex
Arceus :arceus: is a deity in the Pokémon mythology it hatched from an egg then cerated the universe
Mew :mew: is the common ancestor of all non-Mythical Pokémon, and probably most mythical Pokémon as well
Poliwag :poliwag: was the first Pokémon created by Satoshi Tajiri that ended up in the games. It also has #001 in the Pokédex assigned in early concepts
Rhydon :rhydon: has the internal ID 0x01 in Generation 1 (0x00 is the glitch Pokémon 'M, often mistaken for MissingNO. because it uses the same sprite, but it's not an official Pokémon)

This seems to be a concert for many Mastodon newcomers so I will address it in this toot:

As the instance admin, I have the ability to read your DMs. They're unencrypted.

There are two ways I can do this:
1- Looking directly into the instance's database
2- If someone reports a DM you send

I will never do the former. However, the latter is a different story, as I need to moderate them to keep the instance and its users safe, and unless not doing so threatens that safety, I will respect your privacy.

If you need to exchange sensitive information that required absolute secrecy, I'm strongly recommending you to use any encrypted method of communication isntead of Mastodon DMs.

This is a GitHub repository containing the source code of Pokémon Red and Blue, disassembled and refactored to human-readable (and editable!) asm.

While the code is refactored, its functionality is untouched, and the ROMs you built with this code will be identical to the one that is on US Pokémon Red or Blue cartridge.

It is a really cool and interesting project!
