~ HOW TO INTERACT WITH A TOOT THAT HASN'T REACHED YOUR INSTANCE YET ~

1) Right-click on the timestamp to copy the toot's URL or open it in a new tab.
2) Paste the URL of the toot into the search bar in the Mastodon web UI, then press enter.
3) The toot will appear in the search results and you can boost or reply from there.

I made a flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!
So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.

I'm fed up of "coming out" days that ask trans people to come out in an unsafe world, doing all the risky stuff, while cis people ignore us.
Today, 14th Oct, every year, the onus is on cis people to buy cake for their #trans, #nonbinary and otherwise genderly-interesting friends.
