It's early June. Currently I'm my British summer color & everyday I get darker. I love it. I'll soon be my mommas color & feel good.

But there's a lot of folks out there that know racism exists but will deny colorism. That's a cognitive dissonance that I dont understand & find scary tbh.

But I will say, that the darker I get, the worst my treatment here in the city gets. I have a few things going on, femme, darker skin and tattoos/piercings.

The emphasis on rewarded allies for being good places a lot of attention and focus on people who do not have much to lose in this fight.

Politics gives me anxiety. It puts me in a place where I don't feel comfortable leaving the house.

This happened when Obama got elected (I was legit scared to go to work & so was a friend of mine who was a BW) we hit each other up and met up to have a ..basically a come to Jesus moment for each other

and then when I lived in UK and Brexit happened. I didn't leave the house for 2 days. The attacks on 'foreigners' went up 100% in the following days.
