seems like the biggest problem with my photography aside from my camera not being very good at low-light situations, is shaky paws, so hopefully i can find a decently mobile tripod at a thrift store soon.

yeeeep, i probably need a better hobby than computer hardware. one that i can actually afford

@ShugoWah the dream is to have 2x nvme cards + 2x mid-tier gpus so i can do linux as my main os with windows in a passthrough vm, though realistically that'll probably never happen lmao

though i am worried that now pcie4 is out, mid-tier gpus will start requiring it just to force upgrades

meanwhile phones have replaced computers as being great for longevity (at least ime) considering i got a pixel 2 xl and have no desire to upgrade phones anytime soon because there really isn't anything new

what happened to computers? i used to be able to buy a computer and be happy for 3-5 years aside from changing the gpu every 1 or 2 years.

now there's pretty much a new standard every year that "changes everything" and frankly it's absurd to keep up with

things change too much for me to commit to a cpu for very long
