i'm getting none of the cards that i built my deck around wtf #mtga

i used to play rock band drums to the point of getting blisters, now i play splatoon 2 that much somehow

i really miss rock band though

@BearishMushroom that's fair. i like to do that sometimes but mostly i like to get super into things and play them for way too long for some good escapism.

really wish i could set icons to be the full size of the squares because i can barely see half of these

all these games to play and instead i cycle between spla2n, rocket league, and mtga and barely touch anything else

if i'm stressed out over splatoon ranked i usually just go play some salmon run, or head into turf war with a bunch of weapons and gear i never use. helps me get accustomed to the feel of them, shows me some of the weaknesses others will have when i'm up against them with my regular loadout, and it's just plain fun to play knowing you'll probably do poorly thanks to lack of experience and sometimes surprising yourself anyway

@BearishMushroom yeah, it's extremely frustrating. my bar got 3 cracks in it for half the ranks on the way to X. seriously. i didn't start getting a little breathing room until i started getting triple kills on the regular

i've also already deranked in clam blitz a couple times in such low ranks as B and A

@BearishMushroom also losing isn't always your fault, you can do really really well in a game mode and still end up losing because either the weapons on the other team are the rock to your scissors, or you're being pitted up against too many enemy players because your teammates can't maintain at least a 1:1 kill/death ratio and you get teamed up on

@BearishMushroom tbh S+0 is pretty similar to every other S+ rank, so if you got to S+1 before i don't doubt you'll get back up there again and further

just takes a bit of practise and learning a bunch of new strategies. i am still learning new strategies every few games because of some really good players handing my ass to me lmao

my rank meter was near the top but it got reset. hopefully i don't keep losing...

that said last time i tried to play (immediately after losing my first two matches in rainmaker X before the maps and modes switched) i ended up losing like 3 games in a row so uh. oops!

also a bit rusty at tower control but it's s+3 which is somehow easier because people sometimes try to play as a team

i'm gonna try to get X in other game modes in splatoon too. but idk if i'll ever make it since i'm about to derank in clam blitz from a meager A and i can't seem to win in S in splat zones either

i also had a way more interesting dream before that when i first woke up earlier, it was almost lucid (i was slightly influencing the dream because it was bordering on nightmare territory and i wanted to keep it comfortable) and i kept it fun.

unfortunately i don't remember the details other than at one point someone was coming after me but they fell into a small ravine and got snatched by something in the forest at the bottom

had a dream that involved going into a washroom and seeing a gamer-themed toilet. was about to use it just to say i did, until i got closer and saw it was a potty for little kids, which i thought was some pretty amusing commentary on "gamer culture" and was about to take a picture of it but the dream ended
