The 2016 event was a watershed moment. Both @matrixdotorg and @ipfsbot launched there amidst a rich tapestry of technology, philosophy, ethics, and activism.

I'm going to work with my IA friends to make sure that more #platformcoop will be on offer. In 2016 Maira Sutton from Shareable was there, hoping for a lot more.

@Greg github made open source and git accessible to a wide audience, and aggregated the whole dev market.

I want the same type of thing for governance. Give me a tool that creates the structure, plans the meetings, the votes and even files the incorporation forms.

Then publish it. I can take the structure of a coop that's working and 'fork' it for new uses. Add in support of specific platforms (like mastodon, hosting, etc) and away you go. #platformcoop as a service (provided by a coop).

I'm here because I want to help promote Platform Coops. This is the future I always envisioned back when I was on the Gopher team in the early nineties.

Currently supporting Resonate music coop effort, Riot/Matrix, Known, Mastodon, and OpenCollective.

Interests include Digital Preservation (developer on Perkeep) and decentralized protocols.

Day job is at Google, but I'm not your typical Googler.
