The time has come to make a decision on what to keep running. Diasporapod.no has been a fun project, but I do not have the capacity to run it any more, so I have decided to shut it down. I also recently got some major problems with the server not communicating with other servers, and I have not been able to solve it. So I will close it down and work on other things. Please download your data from your profile-settings- account page, request your data and optionally delete your account afterwards.
The tools for emailing all users does not work either, so I had to write it here.
Also registrations has been closed from now on.
The whole server will be securely erased in two weeks time, erasing everything on it. Thanks to all of you who used it - it’s been fun. You can find a new home at https://diaspora.podupti.me/ .

Something went very wrong on Monday, went from over 30.000 processed messages down to 600.
Not sure exactly what caused it yet- but as I mentioned earlier today - I have now at least updated diaspora to the latest version, will check more tomorrow.

I have updated diaspora instance to the latest version, it was a bit tricky to do - but now it's running again, I will check the communication towards other servers tomorrow (running out of time today) and if the issue persists I will check more on it then. Sorry about this..

That feeling when you reach behind the servers to pull out a cable, and then accidentally shut down the servers, desktop, laptop, router all at once because you touch the switch on the multi-plug power cord..

Okay, so long weekend has started, things has settled down, today I have time to work on my own things, first up is resuming the work of getting https://gnusocial.no up and running on nightly version, been a pain in the ass to solve, but I'll try again today.

Today it is the constitution day in Norway. And we all celebrate a bit :) Good food, cake and candy. Hotdogs and ice cream. Congratulations to all of Norway!

Hi all! #NewHere. Had a user here before but now I have a new one to test out the possibility of having a group for the organization "Stop Lockdown Now" here on Diaspora.

Fucking quarantined again because one of my kids teacher tested positive. 3rd time we're quarantined because of kids have to go to school. I'm pissed and fed up. (Not at the teacher, but corona virus.)
Goddammit. Not how I wanted to spend the long weekend with days off work, we wanted to spend it outside and do things. Now we're stuck at home.
But all in all - we'll make sure the kids have fun, find things to do and such. Glad we have a trampoline, playstation, board games and a lot of fun stuff.

Went on a nice walk with the puppy today.

I am working on getting https://gnusocial.no upgraded to nightly version.
I need to update the version of ubuntu server (affects https://diasporapod.no as well).
So tomorrow I'll take a snapshot that I can roll back if needed - then I will upgrade the server, so expect some downtime tomorrow evening during this.

This weekend has been busy, drove 8 hours to get this puppy :) Kids are super happy (so are we). His name is Floke, mix between Chinese crested, Norwegian buhund and dwarf pincher.
Super nice dog, nice with the kids, sleeps well at night etc. Very happy.

Sorry about the brief downtime, I pulled the wrong plug while fixing some hardware, and I unplugged the power to the server by accident. Back up now :)

Tonight I installed NixOS - and compiled a application that I maintain. Took a while to figure out how to set up the development environment on it, but I got all that solved, and the application works.
