@Sylvhem I do get your point, but :
* if people want specifically their piece of software to be open source but not free, why wouldn't he be able to call it open source? I guess what you mean is that the terms are not synonyms, and that you should not call a free software an open source one.* Whereas "Logiciel libre" in France does not have the same caveat, "Free software" is very ambiguous for the average Joe out there, and people maybe want to avoid the confusion.
