@pzmyers "Yeah, that's right. Octopuses. And you know how they mate? I'll wait while you Wikipedia that. [mimes reading phone] "...solitary when not mating... lifespan is limited by reproduction..." So, if Jordan Peterson were honest, he'd say that by his logic, we should all live alone, fuck once and then die."

@pzmyers Scientists are the wrong ones to respond to Peterson. We're trained, mostly, to find and criticize honest errors, not total bullshit.

This calls for a stand-up comedian. "So, Jordan Peterson. This guy says that people should be like lobsters. No, really. That's his deal. We have serotonin in our brains, lobsters have serotonin, therefore everything about people, like who gets to date who, should be like it is with lobsters. Well, you know who else uses serotonin? Octopuses."

Did my part at the ballot box. If you're in MA and have anything like a soul, you'll vote yes on 3.

Trans people are people and it's a horror and an indignity that we even have their rights on the ballot again.

@pzmyers Don't forget the time when Pinker actively set back the cause of physics education, by mistreating science in exactly the way Sokal criticized postmodern literary types for: https://www.sunclipse.org/?p=2230

    Current gender: Non-practicing male.

I was raised culturally male, but never really practiced, y'know? Still, my parents were not super happy when I decided to convert.

I just observe the major holidays like sports and emotional repression.
