i think it's something that sounds great IN THEORY but the implications are scary
one of my favorite books that i read as a young person was Feed by MT Anderson, which goes like:
companies build brain implants, companies use them to advertise to you
teen fucks with the advertising by trying to be "unmarketable" by being eclectic company has no interest in helping out when their tech renders teen disabled because "not valuable"
@ItsJenNotGabby i think there's the mentioned reasons such as providing accessibility / new ways to augment senses for people with various types of disability, which is cool
but i think mostly people like the idea of being able to be smarter or see better or essentially do magic by having a computer literally plugged in to your brain
imo it's kind of an alluring idea but when it comes to practically executing that the idea is sorta horrifying to me
musk: so, we invented this robot that's like a sewing machine but instead of fixing a rip in your jeans we're gonna thread sensors deep into your brain
I wish I had more bandwidth to give my job the attention it needs, my relationships the attention they deserve, and my own self-care the attention it's lacking.
> we could storm area 51 and free all the aliens! < you're right! we could declare a bastille day by force < no human is illegal > ha ha what < they can't stop all of us > wait
1) read way more books than I used to 2) almost entirely replaced buying books on Amazon with buying books from a wonderful local book shop that has a bar and cafe and live music at nights
Communism vs Capitalism in America is literally people who see what a scam the lottery is versus people who think they can win the lottery if they believe in money hard enough.
