there are literally tons of people who give a shit about other humans and work in tech. there are also lots of women and PoC who are technically skilled. the issue isn't pipeline in any way; it's a matter of choice who you market to and who your company culture is designed for

tech companies want maladjusted young men to work for them

saw this take on twitter, my counter take is:

tech billionaires love the "no life / socially inept neckbeard" stereoptype because they can exploit people who fit that bill

they intentionally market to antisocial white men who think of themselves as rockstar devs or 10x engineers so they can mask their management abuses as positive character traits of their engineers
