Font nerds are the best nerds, period. ❤ ♲ @Orteil42@twitter.com: note that my Nested uses IPAMonaPGothic, a japanese pixel font which, at <23px font size, miraculously renders latin characters pixel-perfect, but it's not installed on every device and it's just not an ideal solution

♲ @Lexialex@twitter.com: Watching news on the Suez crisis in diff languages. The West is all jokes & market speculations. To hear about seafarers stuck after being away for a year, ships not carrying enough provisions, risks to the region due to rising oil & gas prices, you have to watch news in Arabic

A lot is known about #LEGO, full inventories for each officially released set, mold differences between parts even when LEGO doesn't differentiate them, the years these molds were used, but the precise number of parts lost to sea shipping? I'm impressed.

It seems there is now an international campaign to track down these scammers. And apparently nearly everyone in India hates them too. -

I don't have any specific personal feeling about this, it just dawned on me reading about Discord now holding useful information that used to be posted to special interests forums, who have been closed in favor of Discord servers. But what happens when Discord inevitably closes, unable to grow indefinitely while providing free services?
I know this subject is close to the heart of several people I'm frequenting on the Internet, and I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't look good. -

There probably is some truth to this. I initially considered a qualitative property of the information we produce, but I couldn't find an absolute criterion. Considering all the information we produce makes even a high information rot ratio irrelevant. -

I'm not a historian myself so I don't really have a personal stake in this question, but I know it's important for some people, so I wouldn't mind being proven wrong in the end. -

Nope, there will be new information, but old information is likely to rot faster than ever before in humanity history. Between physical device deterioration, proprietary formats and proprietary data, there won't be much left compared to the quantity we are producing. -
