    @Rasmus Fuhse I’m not sure about the “making money” part. Counting the initial ticket purchase and the extra expenses incurred by the rebooking, we were essentially paid more than US $1,000 each to fill seats on another plane. It sounds like an expensive game the airline may not want to play too much. I’m not sure what the margin is on a New York - Washington, DC ticket is but it can’t be more than its price (US $110-280).

    Twice in the past three days, I stumbled on a piece of printed media younger than a decade old mentioning a URL to an online video game that doesn't exist anymore.

    Once in a Spirit Animals book by Brandon Mull that my 9 year-old daughter picked at the book barn specifically for it. She was disappointed but read the book anyway. The link now redirects to the series presentation on the publisher website.

    Second in LEGO instructions for a 2014 set, there's an full-page advertisement for the PC/Android/iOS game LEGO City My City doesn't exist anymore anywhere I looked.

    The difference in longevity between the two mediums is striking.

    Still salty that the cinematic adaptation of the book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War (2006) written by Max Brooks, which is a lovely collection of apocalyptic short stories, ended up being written as a white savior long story starring Brad Pitt. 😫

    I’m currently donating monthly to both Wikipedia and Signal through my company's donation matching platform.

    This means I keep receiving both Wikipedia and Signal’s pleas for donations. On one hand, if they had automatically matched my professional identity to my respective personal accounts, I would be horrified at such a #privacy violation. On the other hand, it would be marginally more convenient for me.

    Just found out UK singer Mayah Camara, who recently released a cool-sounding #SynthWave album in collaboration with SelloRekt / LA Dreams, is vocally anti-abortion. She also wrote a song called "Cancelled" on this album which is exactly what you would expect from the "fuck your feelings" crowd.

    I randomly watched a video of someone playing Rust (2013), another survival massively-multiplayer online game, and I realized why cooperation isn't fostered: players can carry enough materials to build a small house just in their own backpack. 🤷♂️
