@dwaltiz I think #Matrix in general is being used less except for some large special-interest rooms and some rooms about specific Matrix server or client software.

The other thing that Matrix is good for, accessing #IRC via the Matrix-IRC bridge, is hampered by the bridge failing to complete login when it reconnects.

How many users’ privkeys are stored on KB’s servers (this was the default in the beginning, and last I looked, some of their services still required it) where badguys can exfiltrate them and assume those users’ “verified” identities?

A web of rel=me links, with a user-controlled index (signed with their own GPG key) does the same job without any “upload your privkey” shenanigans.

@sean @sean Given that each article requires some research and you also have a full-time job, I think _quality_ matters more than _quantity_. If you can only write 2 articles per week and maintain your standards, then that’s where you should be aiming.

@amic Obviously, you’d want to make sure they are clearly marked on the site, so people don’t expect that you’ve assembled these products yourself.

@amic I know you’re joking, but stocking small numbers of pre-made cables of certain types (including VGA, HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, probably more) to sell as add-ons to orders could help increase average order size.

If $CUSTOMER is ordering cables anyway, it may make sense to get them all in one place.

I intend to visit Target today to obtain a couple of surge protector power strips. The ones I have are the ones with the idiotic “master” socket, so if the item in that spot is turned off, everything else gets cut off. This is just proof that #head_in_rump syndrome exists outside of government.

@sean I was just looking at #SoLiD (I assume that is the preferred casing?) yesterday, wondering whether it would be worth trying to host a pod. Interesting that they kyped the name, but don’t seem to share any protocols with #Diaspora or any other #federated socnet.
