@frank The strange thing is that you are the only one reporting this out of hundreds of instances thousands of users I host and that share exactly the same setup. So, my first suspicion is your setup. Do you think it's possible that you lose internet connection and then reconnect, when that happens? Is there any why you could try accessing with another browser for a couple of days to see if it happens.
@frank Thanks, the only error I see in your logs is "method=POST path=/inbox format=html controller=ActivityPub::InboxesController action=create status=500 error='TypeError: no implicit conversion of nil into String'" I have no idea if it is related or not. I also found this https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/7622 that it could be somehow related.
@alienlebarge OK! I changed your instance to not use CDN for media files. When you can please have a look and let me know if the issue is solved. Thanks.
There was a software upgrade in the OVH data center where Masto.host shared hosting is installed that caused about 5 minutes of downtime around 1:50 am (GMT).
@Cobalt don’t really have a plan for it. Also Glitch.soc is a development fork and it could be tricky to offer a service against a development fork. Currently I am still really focused on building the infrastructure and improving the service before I can even think about offering other forks.
@mjog I have plans setup where you can go way over the plan limits. So, your instance will not be throttled unless you are way above the limit. Still, even if you were to hit that limit the messages would only be delayed. Less than 1% of instances that I host had to upgrade due to low volume limits but it does occasionally happen when I notice that an instance is causing too much stress on the server.
@mjog Hello, sure you can migrate in and out of Masto.host whenever you want. Your instance data is yours and you can take it out whenever you want.
As for pixelfed, currently I am still working on getting Mastodon right and I want to maintain my focus there. In the future maybe I can provide other hosting services but no short term plans for that.
@skynebula Currently, you can export/import the list of people you follow + block + silence.
That is what comes default with Mastodon, don't know if a tool exists that will allow you to import toots via the API but still you would just be doing a copy of the content, not the interactions.
