    @davey The installer still asks you for a root password, AFAIK.

    Though the threat models are completely different, and I am still less than convinced that 'su' is less secure than 'sudo'.

    @gudenau most of the time I've seen this sort of an error it's been quote characters in data either not properly escaped, or not being treated as properly escaped by the importer.

    @gudenau rush job version: load it into a spreadsheet, check to see if that line parsed correctly there.

    If it did, do a global search and replace from tab to space, resave as tab separated no-quotes and load appropriately.

    Not pretty, only a 50/50 chance you'll see what the problem is, but it will most likely work.

    @gudenau actual csv?
    MariaDB may not be treating quoting correctly.

    @jack @Wolf480pl @hushroom the Gambler's Fallacy applies to tech advances as much as anything else.

    If we get it, run with it. Otherwise plan for what we've got.

    @Wolf480pl @hushroom @jack yep. The ideal would be nuclear+wind+solar with pumped hydro and batteries for rapid emergency surge that can't be covered effectively by the nuclear plants.

    It would be the safest and most cost-effective combination if we finally refuse to accept the crazy high body count associated with even the least dangerous fossil fuels.

    If we ever get fusion, the equation changes again, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

    @hushroom that's a totally irrational position. Opposing nuclear power has never prevented the manufacturing of nuclear weapons.

    Should we outlaw JP-6 so that bombs can't be delivered?

    @hushroom that it kills many orders of magnitude fewer people than fossil fuels.

    Also, nuclear power != nuclear weapons. The false equivalence is a common propaganda technique.

    @hushroom @strypey @Wolf480pl cancer rates that can be positively tied to a site/event are counted.

    Hardhat events are in the mere dozens, not the few thousand I count.
