We've started whittling down applicants for the MoodleNet backend developer (#Elixir) position and are having informal conversations.
If you were thinking of applying, this weekend would be a good time to send us your details...

Keeping track of and contributing to #MoodleNet

@0xf0 Ah that's v4 :)
@OMGTehAwsome Wow, that's really strange. I did look on the bq website on my smartphone while I was away and that whole section didn't show up.
Thanks!
@0xf0 I couldn't see any!
@kdsch Yep, and thanks to the hard work and outreach of the very well-connected @mayel there have been plenty of applicants so far!
We're hiring an #Elixir developer for my team at @moodle to help build #MoodleNet. Please share with people you know who may be interested!
@frankiesaxx Cool! Doesn't look like they sell it in the UK bit I could always import one. Let me know how you like it!
@postmasterdoggo Thanks, but impractical for my usage 🙃
Dammit, I've left my well-loved bq Cervantes (open source) e-reader on a flight.
Unlikely that I'll get it back or be able to buy another one (it's discontinued).
Any suggestions for a replacement? Don't particularly want #spyware machine like a Kindle.
@takobowl I experiment with lots of sites so see everything I do as a kind of permanent beta. Happy so far, but it's super-early days.
There's definitely something nice to be around something since near Tue beginning!
@mayel Thanks! Looking forward to hearing what you've been up to while I've been away 👍

I registered a #pixelfed account a couple of months ago. Seeing my wife posting images from our trip to Instagram, I decided to start using the decentralised alternative!
Flying home from Stuttgart with my family after a two-week inter-railing adventure around Europe!
Get back late then straight into meetings tomorrow morning from 08:00... 😐
You may have noticed me doing research about the technology stacks being used by #ActivityPub apps, this is because I'm involved in a couple federated projects (both of which are new use cases, and extending the #ActivityStreams format).
One of those (current dayjob) is #MoodleNet (for educators to curate educational resources together), and we now decided to use #Elixir for the back-end, which I explain in detail here:
https://docs.moodle.org/dev/MoodleNet/tech/stack
I'm open for feedback & collaboration requests!
For anyone else hyperventilating at the #Firefox testing of the new #IETF standard recommendation: #DoH
You might like to hear about options to still use DoH and NOT #Cloudflare #Mozilla is not about to introduce a Single Point of Failure. It's testing a new standard via one of the early adopting DNS providers.
Anyways, here's a list of alternative DoH end-points! https://github.com/curl/curl/wiki/DNS-over-HTTPS#publicly-available-servers
@nmashton Well, the first of the seven international principles of co-operation is 'voluntary and open membership'.
I should imagine that, just like holacracy, people who joined an organisation to be told what to do won't flourish.
I'm away for a bit, but if you're an #Elixir dev, you should keep an eye on @mayel's timeline for an upcoming opportunity on the #MoodleNet team. https://moodle.com/moodlenet
I know they're not mutually exclusive, but thing that I like about the Fediverse is its diversity, as opposed to the Indieweb folks who seem to all be white guys over 40.
