         @roka you're right -- I noticed the dark brown eye ring but wasn't paying close enough attention to the extent of the fleshy gape under the eye and the shape of the nostrils. (perched Aquila/Clanga can be otherwise obnoxiously similar from the front.)
         
         did they really set that poor bird up in a forest-like habitat?  steppes are open country birds.

            @awg yep though the cage was organised differently. it's a cramped zoo overall, located near a forest  - only 14 hectares *total*

                  @awg it was very nice but i wish serval-chan came out for me. Then again, those particular cages had extremely thick fence so it was hard to focus the camera, ehh.
