When my gross income was $10k-$12k, $35-$50k was rich. Now, $100k-$120k is rich. If I ever make that much, $250k will be the cutoff for "rich".
Some of our (under $100k) best allies make a heck of a lot more than we do.-

(Most years, my rent is 40% of my gross income. Last year, it was only 20%, because I worked stupid amounts of overtime, some of which the government is trying to take back.)
But my point was that many of the people ranting about "rich" people would be considered rich themselves by many of the people they claim to represent.-

At least in my experience. It still varies ("I can live off investment payouts" in Silicon Valley is different from in Poland) but I feel like it generally meshes pretty well as long as you consider the context. -
