    I wonder if there's any value in a post that helps peopel separate themselves from their workplaces brand identity.

    I know I derived a lot of sense of self from my ubuntu persona, and i literally branded myself with it all over the place.

    This put a lot of pressure on me not only to embody the qualities of the Code of Conduct, but also cut deep when I made the choice to leave and it introduced a minor identity crisis.

    I see a lot of young professionals doing the same thing i was doing...

      @lazypower It disturbs me when people's social media accounts are thinly-veiled marketing for the company they work for.

      Seems dominant in tech. I kinda get the motive if one has stock, but it concerns me that people's identities are defined in part as a corp they don't own or control.

      I have a policy to not talk (good or bad) about a place I work until I've quit. Doesn't always work if I get a job at a place I habitually talk about already, but it beats tattooing somebody's brand on myself.
