    The talk about the refugees who helped Snowden in Hong Kong was probably testing the outermost limits of empathy for a technology crowd at 34C3. These people didn't have any cool tech demo or surveillance hot take to deliver. They merely helped someone in trouble for a short time.

    It would be good if they could get asylum in Germany, but I know that getting asylum anywhere these days is hard, and if you look into the specifics for Germany it's still quite grim.
