distelfliegewow I just read on birbsite that it's centering images in tweets (to make thumbnails) not just arbitrarily. they have one of these infamous algorithms, supposed to automatically put the most relevant part of a picture in focus when creating thumbnails. which turns out, are white peoples' faces while black ppls faces are moved out of center.
