I can only imagine that Aung San Suu Kyi is under the thumb of the Malaysia junta.

@zoowar I saw in the café that she was in the news holding some speech. Anything in particular?

@zoowar Looks like some Rohingya stuff, that's what I figured. The interview clips Trevor Noah criticized last week were pretty embarrassing.

It's good that she finally speaks out in any way against the ongoing pogrom, but:

          > “We want to find out why this exodus is happening.”

I'm sure it has something to do with your military. But on the other hand it's not like she is actually in control of them -- she's the head of state at their mercy.

Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi condemned on Tuesday any human rights violations in troubled Rakhine State and said anyone responsible would face the law, and that she felt deeply for the suffering of everyone caught up in the conflict there.

Sorry. Aung San Suu Kyi is "state councillor", not even on paper do they allow her to be head of state. The formal president is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Htin_Kyaw , but apparently he works for her.
