Sometimes any song from an album will evoke the entirety of the album so strongly that it requires resolution, so if you need me I'll be @nowplaying Talking Book from 1972.

@djsundog @nowplaying My parents got Talking Book when I was 9 & I wore that damn thing right through. I didn’t know until a few years ago that he played all the drums on it, too. Perpetual favorite. Blame it on the Sun is particularly amazing.

@djsundog @nowplaying An astounding vocalist as well. I think his voice really shines more on Innervisions, which I finally obtained in the late 90’s. It has some of his strongest songwriting, but Talking Book is a bit more raw & pure to me.

@Devils_Rancher @djsundog there's a great story in the Funk Brothers documentary (?) about 12yr old stevie wonder hanging around motown and just playing *everything*. keys, drums, horns, whatever he could get his hands on.
