    I think I'll deprecate fedwiki. It looks like an elaborate system with lots of plugins, but if there's no reasonably straightforward way for a user to authenticate and actually edit something then it's just not useful.

    The basic problem here seems to be that they built a wiki, but assumed that authentication would always be someone else's problem, where someone else is always proprietary.

      @bob Well, they built a wiki, but didn't think about making federation something that all wiki software could add. Fedwiki's UI is weird and horrid, but if the federating aspect could be used from other wiki software, the years-long effort to create it would be worthwhile.
