    mastodon blocklist advisories like @dzuk's are utterly toxic and encourage group-think instead of conscious admin decision-making.

    probably a good thing that person blocks me and puts himself in a bubble that excludes this valuable input

      this doesn't mean that publishing a blocklist in use on a public instance is bad, it's just when you call it a "blocklist advisory" that it becomes bad.

      see also: basically every freenode wannabe staffer ever. "that guy did some bad thing somewhere 2 years ago, better ban him from every channel i have ops in!"

        i especially like how their blocklist advisory references me on 2.distsn.org while they themselves have blocked me, that is truly amazing
