[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nns2DHYPmOA[/embed] A food manufacturing co-operative society called YekbĂ»n has been opened by some women in the Hilaliyah neighbourhood in Qamishlo [QamiĆlo / Qamishli / Al-Qamishli]. YekbĂ»n means "to be one". There are four women in the co-operative, and they make food in the house of one of the members. The women work with faith and spirit, relying on a communal way of life. Sawsan Ali, a member of YekbĂ»n Co-operative Society, said, âOur stance here is a response to the violence that is being practised regularly against women. We will not allow a return to a time when it was normal for womenâs rights to be breached, we will develop our co-operative through will power and serious work.â
