   Millennial at work always starts IM's with "heyyy" and waits for me to respond, rather than asking questions without the "small talk."

   Anyone else deal with this kind of behavior? Seems like some attempt at . . . I'm not even sure. I'd be fine with "hey, do you know...xyz" I just hate having to respond before getting to the purpose of the IM!

   I now respond with just a period.
