      I probably can't afford it, but I think he's getting a couple of thousand dollars toward buying his next camera body.

         @clacke If he gets into technical specs, my eyes glaze over. My only photography class was around 40 years ago.

         #sonTwo followed a cottonmouth (a type of poisonous snake), trying to get closer to get a photo. (He denies "chasing" it.)
         
         He said he can either buy a longer lens for his existing (Nikon) camera or, if he expects to obtain the desired (Sony) camera soon, he'll get a lens for that one instead.
         
         Per our normal agreement, he's going to write up a proposal that states what it costs, what advantages he expects it to provide, what part of the cost remains to be covered, and (most importantly) how this will help him to earn more money.
