Well:
1) some people don't want Ubuntu to have a monopoly on beginner GNU/Linux distros
2) so they trash-talk Ubuntu and praise Fedora Linux
3) a distro run by Red Hat, a billion-dollars company which develops systemd
4) companies can't have a monopoly on free software because we can fork it at any time
5) but unfortunately we can't maintain a decent community spinoff because we only installed GNU/Linux because we had time to kill, not because we're developers (see Mageia, Elementary OS)
6) so the main concern is Canonical abandoning Ubuntu desktop because we couldn't keep a decent fork anyway
